Determine placement of the Frantz Oil Filter on fender panel for accessibility and convenience for servicing. Use mounting bracket as template to mark the four mounting holes. Check clearance of hood and non-interference with servicing of spark plugs, dipstick removal, etc.

Punch mounting holes with scratch awl in the marked screw hole locations for mouting screws.

Secure mounting bracket with four mounting screws.

Determine whether to use elbow or straight flare fitting for pressure and return line hook-up to the Frantz Oil Filter base. Apply Frantz thread sealer to the fine threads and insert fittings into inlet and outlet until finger tight then tighten two more turns for a leakproof seal. If 90° flare elbows are required, align in general direction of pressure and return sources on the engine.

Attach Frantz Oil Filter to one of the adjustment hole positions in the mounting bracket with 5/16" bolts provided.

Locate pressure source for the Frantz Oil Filter. Determine first whether engine is equipped with a "spin-on" full-flow filter (as illustrated) then install Frantz Dual Filtration Adapter between the full-flow filter and the filter base.

Wipe clean the filter base where the Frantz Dual Filration Adapter gasket will make contact. Carefully remove any gasket residue or dirt as a smooth surface is necessary for a leak-proof seal.

Insert  gasket in adapter gasket groove. Do not apply grease to the gasket. (NOTE: Preassemble the Frantz pressure line and 90° Street L fitting to the adapter.)
